I regularly receive an XLXS format file from a company, it is large. Microsoft
Office 2010 opens this file in about 15 seconds. Calc tries to open the file,
gets to about 30% and then progresses no further. Calc is still responding but
there are no signs of activity (no disk activity). XLXS file load performance
is always diabolically slow in Calc but I have not left it running for several
days to see if this file eventually loads!
Fixing this would be great especially since Microsoft have changed office to
not supporting saving XLS format files.

Unable to replicate this bug. I tested a 15 Mb XLSX file. It opened in 21
seconds. Hardware: Mac OS X, version: 4.0.1.

Able to replicate this bug with a ~4 MB file on Windows 8 64 bit
AOO401m5(Build:9714 Rev 1524958) ver 4.0.1. Still showing loading bar after 10
minutes.

You can sent it to me.
Microsoft Office can still save to .xls, only the default has changed to .xlsx
There is already bug 123429, and I'm quite sure that it is the same problem.
