I have found a fix for the old problem, and encountered a new one: After
serving my script-generated jpg image from the cache, it gets
immediately re-written to the cache???
With regard to the header case, I had noted the descrepancy between the
header case in the trace vs. that in RFC2616. My Webware scripts sets
the headers in mixed case as in RFC2616 so something is translating it
to lower case along the way. It could be Webware/WebKit. Anyway, the
problem of not serving from the cache was my caused by my improper use
of the RewriteRule flags. It wants [P,L] ...long story skipped... Many
thanks for your help in tracing the problem, I learned a lot.
