Question concerning advanced XPath support

Hi All, 

After much perusal, I have yet to find documentation concerning whether or
not XMLBeans supports the following two advanced XPath features: 

1) XPath variables 
2) XPath extension functions 

If these is supported, can you direct me to documentation describing how to
implement them?
