[jira] [Updated] (INFRA-9440) Cannot edit roles in JIRA

Gavin updated INFRA-9440:
-------------------------
Status: Waiting for user (was: Waiting for Infra)

Hi [~brandon.williams] - So there are other workarounds we can do.

Basically what has happened is that for your 'Contributors' role you have hit a limit which prevents the user picker from working. Your other 'roles' will still work fine as intended. (tias).

Workaround 1:-

Infra creates a cassnadra-contributors group, we stick all from the contributors 'role' into the group, freeing up your role to work properly (until you hit that limit again)

Workaround 2:-

You tick the box to ignore the warning and still continue editing the role, adding in the users 'jira id' and selecting 'Update' - this will work and add the person to the role even though you dont get to use the user picker.

Workaround 3:-

Your workaround :)

Let me know your thoughts.

td;dr there is no permanent 'fix' I know of currently.

> Hello,
> I'm an administrator for the Cassandra JIRA. I need to edit roles to add contributors, but as soon as I start typing a name to add, an ajax call is failing. Cursory examination shows that JIRA is returning a 400 to the call.
