mapper to get rid of one directory level

Hey,

    Anyone know how to use the mapper to get rid of one directory level 
when I do a copy?

    That is, how do I make sure that everything like
     /dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4/etc.etc

gets copied to

    /dir1/dir3/dir4/etc.etc
