[jira] [Commented] (FLEX-26652) Network Monitor causes AMF requests to stop working if server is compressing HTTP with mod_deflate

David Reade commented on FLEX-26652:
------------------------------------

4 years later...

Just so you know this issue still occurs with the latest Flex SDK, currently 4.14. I can also replicate the issue against Flex SDK 4.6+.

In a mod_deflate environment the application works fine but only if it is not being debugged with the network monitor enabled using Flash Builder 4.6 or 4.7. If I debug the application with network monitor disabled or run the application as a release build, it works absolutely fine with mod_deflate.

FYI, I am using Apache 2.4.12 with PHP 5.5.21 and Zend AMF 1.12.9.

Is anyone else able to test themselves to confirm it's not just me or shed any light on the matter?

> Software:
> Flex Framework 4.5.0.18623
> Zend AMF 1.11.2
> Apache 2.2.17 w/ mod_deflate - all files/connections using compression
> Problem:
> If I try debugging my application, with Network Monitor enabled, the AMF requests hang with a "pending" state. They never complete or timeout. However if I disable Network Monitor the AMF requests complete as expected. This issue does not occur with Flex Framework 4.1.0.
> However if I disable mod_deflate or configure Apache not to compress the AMF requests, with Network Monitor enabled, the AMF requests complete fine and everything works as expected.
> There seems to be a compatibility issue with Flex 4.5 (or Network Monitor) and mod_deflate.
