---------------------------------------------------------------------
Apache Mahout is an official Apache project and thus available from any of the Apache mirrors. We started off as a Lucene sub-project, so older releases are available from the [Lucene Release Mirrors|http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/lucene/mahout]. All future releases will be available from [Mahout|http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/mahout].

h2. Official Release

The latest Mahout release is available for download at: *[http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/mahout/|http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/mahout/*

[System Requirements|https://cwiki.apache.org/MAHOUT/systemrequirements.html] are detailed online.

h2. Future Releases

Official releases are usually created when the developers feel there are sufficient changes, improvements and bug fixes to warrant a release. Watch the [Mailing lists|https://cwiki.apache.org/MAHOUT/mailinglistarchives.html] for latest release discussions.
