read on files on windows vista

Hello,

all my files worked until the last up date.  now they are read only when pulled up and cannot sent them to a disk so relatives can have copies of family history.  I did manage to get a couple to a disk but when you click on them they come up read only and cannot view.  any info would be great.  Thank You

hello.
i know the solution and i present it to you.
open file menu and then properties.
in security tab, unchek Open file read-only with space key.
then press tab and see if the document is protected, change it in to
unprotect button and press enter to confirm the changes.
