Please note unlike a war which places classes under WEB-INF/classes. executable jar classes are not under any dir other than their package. talk about consistency between wars, ears, rars and xars.

> There is no archetype to build an executable jar for batchapp's. clone the war plugin and modify slightly to have APP-INF instead of WEB-INF and command-config.xml instead of web.xml. META-INF/MANIFEST.MF is a must. it has a main class and specifies jars under APP-INF/lib in its classpath. artifact produced can then be executed from the command line using java -jar <artifact>. Can contribute code if description not clear.
