Can't copy between remote and local connection

Hi

I am able to use Guacamole to make and RDP connection to a Debian box using XRDP.

Looking at the settings it would appear possible to be able to copy and paste text cross the browser connection, as well as to be able to download files on the remote machine and then bring them across to the local machine I am browsing from.

I however cannot work out how to set this up.

Kind regards
Andre

I don't know of a tutorial, no. The Guacamole User Guide/Manual covers
the RDP configuration, including device redirection, which is where
file transfers/drive redirection is configured:

https://guacamole.apache.org/doc/gug/configuring-guacamole.html#device-redirection

Hi Nick

That was it, my browser (Brave) was not asking me to allow the clipboard.

Regarding to file transfer, do you know of a simple tutorial that leads one through setting this up?

Kind regards

One thing to check is whether or not you've granted Guacamole access to the clipboard - the Clipboard API support in the browser will prompt for access to the clipboard for Guacamole, and you have to accept this. Also, IIRC, it requires that you are accessing Guacamole via HTTPS. For file transfer, this should work, as well, though I don't use it quite as routinely. You will need to configure the drive redirection feature in RDP and a location on the server running guacd for guacd to use for the files. Once you've done this you should see the drive show up in the Linux system and you can upload and download files via Guacamole, including using the "Download" folder to trigger downloads. -Nick

Yes, I use xrdp with Guacamole on a daily basis, and clipboard support
works fine. One thing to check is whether or not you've granted
Guacamole access to the clipboard - the Clipboard API support in the

have to accept this. Also, IIRC, it requires that you are accessing

For file transfer, this should work, as well, though I don't use it
quite as routinely. You will need to configure the drive redirection
feature in RDP and a location on the server running guacd for guacd to
use for the files. Once you've done this you should see the drive show
up in the Linux system and you can upload and download files via
Guacamole, including using the "Download" folder to trigger downloads.
