cannot untaint path

Hi all -

Apologies if this is old hat; I wasn't able to find
anything useful in my searches. In the past, I've seen
messages like this, mostly in logs from sa-learn scripts,
but recently it's become pretty constant. I think the
problem starts with perl, but after that I get lost. Can
anyone give me an idea of where to look next to figure out
what's going on?

util: cannot untaint path:
"/var/CommuniGate/Domains/domain1.com/accountname.macnt/account.web/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock.mail.domain1.dom
mail.domain2.dom
mail.domain3.dom.11467"

Details:

MacOS X 10.3.9
CommuniGate 4.2.10
CGPSA plugin
perl 5.8.1
SpamAssassin 3.1.7

For what it's worth, the file in question is sometimes
bayes.lock.domain.dom or another file; I'm also seeing
comparatively huge CPU time, and processing times are
hovering around 60 seconds/msg. I'm assuming it's all
related, but again, no idea where to start.
Interestingly, it lints fine; it just fights when it's
actually running.

Any pointers are appreciated.

Thanks,
-John.
