Hmm.. shouldn't this be an xref to avoid this kind of renumbering hooey  
in the future?

Very probably. I'm still very new to docbook, so that didn't occur to me at 
the time.

Ah well. At least I changed it from wrong text to correct text, which is a 
step in the right direction.

It's part of the O'Reilly XML style guidelines, IIRC.

I never understood why you have this kind of ids instead of mnemonic
names. When I write XML documents, I always use meaningful names instead
of chapter numbers. But it's your book, and there is probably some
rationale...

Yes...

...but it won't help us in this way, because our xref's have the
chapter number in their ID's, so they'd have to get updated anyway.
