Michael Howard commented on PIG-4708:
-------------------------------------

Q: Has any thought been given to upgrading pig away from joda-time and to JSR-310 as implemented in Java 8 and available for Java 7 in the http://www.threeten.org/ backport?

> Folks writing UDFs are using more recent versions of joda-time and that conflicts with the one bundled with Pig. Would be good to upgrade to 2.8.2 which is the latest one. I also see some minor bug fixes for JDK 8 too(http://www.joda.org/joda-time/upgradeto281.html)
