Query related to SVG coordinates

SVG canvas starts with (0,0). If we try to set the -ve values while rendering
the canvas it ignores -ve bounds and draw from (0,0).
Is there way to render the root attribute of the canvas to -ve bounds?
If yes, please provide example.
