[jira] Created: (HADOOP-2400) Where hbase/mapreduce have analogous
configuration parameters, they should be named similarly
Where hbase/mapreduce have analogous configuration parameters, they should be named similarly
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: HADOOP-2400
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-2400
Project: Hadoop
Issue Type: Bug
Components: contrib/hbase
Affects Versions: 0.16.0
Reporter: Michael Bieniosek
Priority: Minor
mapreduce has a configuration property called "mapred.system.dir" which determines where in the DFS a jobtracker stores its data. Similarly, hbase has a configuration property called "hbase.rootdir" which does something very similar.
These should have the same name, eg. "hbase.system.dir" or "mapred.rootdir".
