Hi,

I tried to figure out how to respond to the entire Ant
user group but couldn't. So please post my response
in the user group so everyone will know how to do
this.

Ant lets you combine targets from the command line. 
So you can add the following to your build.xml:

and then type the following at the command line:

"ant clean compile"

this will first delete the directory, and then
compile, all in one shot.
