Bertrand Delacretaz resolved SLING-9222.

Resolution: Fixed
Implemented in [commit bf4040d|https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-servlets-resolver/commit/bf4040d04f7eb69f4929c4d3ee75eb422b3592bd] and I'll add a mention of that option at https://sling.apache.org/documentation/the-sling-engine/servlets.html
