Agitator Licenses for Struts Committers

Agitar Software (http://www.agitar.com/) has donated several licenses
for its Agitator product to Apache Struts for our committers to use
on open source projects. The Agitator includes "experts" that help it
work better with frameworks like Struts Action. Right now, the
Agitator "Struts Expert" supports Action 1.2. Experts for other
releases of Apache Struts frameworks are expected. I'm working with
Agitar to make the Expert API available to us, so that we can create
and maintain our own experts.

A whitepaper that describes using the Agitator to test the MailReader
is available here:

* http://www.StrutsUniversity.org/Agitator

And I'll be giving the whitepaper as a "webinar" on Wednesday.

* http://www.planetstruts.org/roller/page/news?entry=what_to_do_if_your

Apache Struts committers can find the list of product keys in the ASF
repository.

* https://svn.apache.org/repos/private/committers/pmc/struts/agitator-keys.txt

Access to this file is resticted to Struts committers.

Do you ever discuss the issues Mitchell? Struts is in large part a quagmire
due to an attempt to give the branding to JSF for Craig via Shale. No one
not in the long term know or even in the long term know can now see what the
future is.  No code

Yep, I agree. You wouldn't believe the commission percentage that
Craig gets whenever he sells a free copy of Java Studio Creator. I'm
impressed that you noticed that too....wow.

There is a big difference between having an open source project that is used
for business and using your position on the list to promote your business
ideas on the list. How about we begin selling our sites on this list? If
you cannot see the difference in this, then you just are not being honest or
you are not to bright. I think Ted sees exactly the point. Reducing this
to the TV idiocy is just as bad as the usual claim that Struts is just
another Apache list, which it is not.

I seem to remember the term "personal gain" from the TV series
"Charmed', but I for one am not a witch :)

The Apache License is designed to be business friendly. We expect and
encourage commercial uses of our products. As a result, it's not
uncommon for vendors of retail products to want to give back to open
source projects.

Another good example is JetBrains, which provides complementantry IDEA
licenses to many open source projects, including the ASF.

Of course, these licenses usually come with the stipulation that the
license is only to be used when working on open source projects. The
licenses are not for our personal use, but to help us with the
volunteer work we do for the foundation.

We can advertise our wares here? I did not know that. I thought this list
was about Struts and not about Ted's business. But, excuse me. I should
have known that Craig was not the exception in using the list that way.
