Unable to run Axis service...
Hi,
I am using Axis engine that come along with IBM Web Services tool kit v
3.0. I have installed the Axis as said in the docs folder but when I try
running the webservices or any other application, I am getting an error
saying "Hi there, this is an AXIS Service! Perhaps there will be a form
for invoking the service here.... " .
Can you please guide me as to what could be possible reasons for this?
Any help regarding this is welcome.
Thanks and regards,

Problem running Axis under FFJ4.0
Posted by NrwSteff <nr...@gmx.de>.
Environment: W2K, JDK1.4, Forte4j 4.0, Tomcat 4.01, Axis beta2
I have a problem running AXIS within Suns Forte4J 4.0 IDE with the
internal Tomcat 4.01. The AdminServlet and the AxisServlet is available
and accessable (from the index.html page). The depoyment of the example3
WSDL is also fine and the service appears on the AxisServlet overview
page. If I run the example3.Client program I receive an "Internal Server
Error, 500". That happens also if I run the client program from outside
the IDE.
The example2.ClaculatorClient with the corrensponding Calculator.jws
(instant deploying) is running without any problems. Funny isn't it?
If I use an external Tomcat installation from inside the Forte IDE
everything works fine, but this solution makes development more
complicated because of the nessecary class deployment to the server for
change.
If you look at the stacktrace you can see, that the AxisServer invoke()
method is called so far. I guess it's a classpath or a xerces
configuration problem, but why is the instant deploying sample
everything is fine.
Any suggestions?
Regards, Stefan Flick

Re: Unable to run Axis service...
Posted by Lyndon Durham <ne...@verizon.net>.
I had a similar problem using the Axis beta1 implementation in JRun 4.0.
The root of my problem was the server-config.wsdd file used to control
the deployment of a webservice for a web application. Check to see if
your wsdd or deployment files contain a transport element definition for
your web services and a URLMapper handler . Hope this helps.
