problems with upgrade to 1.2.3.7

Hello all, I just upgrade my server and agents to 1.2.3.7 and I noticed that all UI links are missing. For example: ganglia Web UI says ":/ganglia" instead of "servername/ganglia" and jobtracker says ":50030" instead of "servername:50030". Ganglia metrics also shows 404 error Not found where metrics would show.

Any idea?

Artem,

FYI, you can get the state of all host components with the following call:
http://ambari-server:8080/api/v1/clusters/c1/host_components?fields=HostRoles/*

I upgraded from 1.2.2. Ganglia server would not start, so I did this ³sudo
chkconfig del gmetad² and restarted from Ambari. Looks like that did the
trick. Hoping the Jira for native gmond and gmetad will be part of the next
upgrade. Thank you all for your help, reboot did fix everything after all. I
see all of the UIs now. The upgrade actually fixed an issue I had with
webhcat permissions and now that works as well.

Subject: problems with upgrade to 1.2.3.7

Hello all, I just upgrade my server and agents to 1.2.3.7 and I noticed that all UI links are missing. For example: ganglia Web UI says ":/ganglia" instead of "servername/ganglia" and jobtracker says ":50030" instead of "servername:50030". Ganglia metrics also shows 404 error Not found where metrics would show.

Any idea?

I stopped everything before upgrading. Some metrics reappeared, like HDFS/IO and some server stats but no HBase stats yet.

Artem,

You may need to restart few services.

[From the doc:]

Re-start the Ganglia, Nagios, and MapReduce services. In Ambari Web.

a. Go to the Services View and select each service.

b. Use the Management Header to stop and re-start each service.
Thanks
Sumit

They do. However, as the rrd file structure changed the over-all structure
of the API response remains in the old format till you restart the
service. The old response structure results in some broken display.

@Sumit, shouldn't the hostnames for the ganglia server and jobtracker be coming from the DB/configs? Is there a relation to the service being started and the resolution of the hostname where the service is installed?
