Apache and Tomcat Win NT SP5 gif-calls hang

Hi all, 

I'm running Apache 1.3.20 and Tomcat4.0 on Windows XP, using the
mod_webapp.so, very successfully. 
On Windows NT SP5, using the same configuration, it fails.

Both are (listening on the TCP-ports) connected and html-files are served,
also gif-calls, but trying to call one example-servlet the system hangs
while doing the gif-calls. 

The Tomcat-logs tell we that everthing has been served fine (the servlets as
well) but the response never reach the browser's window and the Apache-logs
don't tell me anything (at least I can't find anything). 

Anybody any idea ?
