Followup of OAK-7994, there's another improvement I would like to add: the option to run a full text search instead the current {{jcr:like}} on the {{rep:principalName}} property.
As far as the apis go, this will be reflected in a new flag to be passed to the method: {{fullText}}, it would be a best-effort attempts, as for some of the existing impls this doesn't make sense (like the {{ExternalGroupPrincipalProvider}}).
