[Issue 127262] New: Pasting as link
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=127262
Issue ID: 127262
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Pasting as link
Product: Calc
Version: 4.1.3
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 10
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 (lowest)
Component: editing
Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Reporter: mjt.bus@gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
Was able to paste from a worksheet or another spreadsheet worksheet a cell
value as as link. If I remember correctly clicking Link usual gray other items
out on Paste Special. Now having upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to paste as
a link, also when the Link box is checked it does not gray out other options in
the Paste Special window. I was working under Windows 8.1.
Currently the only work around to to manual define a Link or copy an existing
one and modify accordingly.
Today I upgrade to 4.1.3 from 4.1.2 incase there was a fix but issue remains.

--- Comment #1 from Marcus <ma...@apache.org> ---
I'm sorry but I cannot reproduce the reported problem. The following is what
I've done on Win 10 with AOO 4.1.3:
- inserted a hyperlink on spreadsheet 1
- copied & inserted it somewhere else on spreadsheet 1
- created spreadsheet 2
- copied & inserted it also on spreadsheet 2
- all hyperlinks are shown with gray background
In the dialog "Paste Special":
- Make sure that the option "Text" is checked. Otherwise no hyperlink is
inserted.
- The option "Link" refers not to hyperlinks but to cell ranges that can be
linked. See the help topic:
"Inserts the cell range as a link, so that changes made to the cells in the
source file are updated in the target file. To ensure that changes made to
empty cells in the source file are updated in the target file, ensure that the
Insert All option is also selected.
You can also link sheets within the same spreadsheet. When you link to other
files, a DDE link is automatically created. A DDE link is inserted as a matrix
formula and can only be modified as a whole."
