[users@httpd] Apache w/ no net access - trailing slash & slow

Dear List,

I'm running an apache web server on a network that connects through dial-up
(Apache 2, Red Hat 8.0). I'm having the "trailing slash" problem, where
looking at default web pages requires a trailing slash. I've tried changing
ServerName to the IP address, but that hasn't fixed the problem.

In addition, when the network isn't connected through dialup, Apache is
extremely slow on occasion at serving pages (I'm assuming this is because of
lookup problems).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Joe Glass
