How to disable the requirement of ssh

Dear colleagues,

As we know, hadoop uses ssh to connect other nodes. It is a little
inconvenient, because it requires me type the password for each nodes.

I find ssh can disable the password requirement for localhost in
"Hadoop quick start", is there a way to disable the password
requirement of ssh for other nodes?

Thanks!

Best wishes,
Bin YANG

Also read the manual section for ssh.

Hi,

http://wiki.apache.org/nutch/NutchHadoopTutorial
Pl go to the section :

You can use public keys and ssh-agent. This page might help:

http://sial.org/howto/openssh/publickey-auth/

1. For key-pair generation :
ssh-keygen -t dsa -P '' -f ~/.ssh/id_dsa
2. For localhost sshless :
 cat ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
3. For password less ssh across machines : (you need to type your
password once for the first time)
 cat ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub | ssh user@machine "cat - >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys"
Basically your 'public key' should be copied to the 'authorized_keys'
file on all the machines.
4. Btw you might want to avoid the "yes/no" question when you do ssh,
for that add the following lines to ~/.ssh/config
{code}
StrictHostKeyChecking no
NoHostAuthenticationForLocalhost yes
{code}
Btw if your home NFS mounted then no need to copy the keys (i.e skip step 3)
