[jira] [Created] (ARGUS-186) Improve failure handling in usersync
service
Madhan Neethiraj created ARGUS-186:
--------------------------------------
Summary: Improve failure handling in usersync service
Key: ARGUS-186
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARGUS-186
Project: Argus
Issue Type: Bug
Reporter: Madhan Neethiraj
Assignee: Madhan Neethiraj
Usersync service currently exits when it fails in updating ranger-admin with users and groups found in the source (i.e. Unix or LDAP). Once this occurs, it will require manual start of the usersync service to resume user/group synchronization.
Instead of exiting, the service should continue to stay alive in its synchronization loop and attempt to update ranger-admin after waiting for a configurable amount of time.
