javax.net.ssl.SSLException: untrusted server cert chain

I know this isn't really a SOAP question, but when connecting to SOAP over
HTTPS, I'm getting the untrusted exception:

javax.net.ssl.SSLException: untrusted server cert chain

I know this is because I'm connecting to a test server that is using a
self-generated cert.  Where can I look to find out how to configure that
cert so that it's trusted by my test client?  Pointers appreciated...
