Request to contribute IBM Db2 driver to arrow-adbc

Hello,

I'm Awanish Gupta from IBM. We have completed a native C++ ADBC driver for
IBM Db2 and would like to contribute it to the Apache Arrow ADBC ecosystem.

I noticed that a dedicated repository for the Db2 driver already exists:
https://github.com/adbc-drivers/db2. We would like to push our
implementation to this repository and collaborate on its further
development.

Could you please grant the necessary repository access to the following
GitHub accounts?

   -

   *iawanish*
   -

   *hdm-db2-eco-system*

Additionally, I would appreciate your guidance on the contribution and
release process. If there is any documentation or a set of guidelines we
should follow for submitting the code, getting it reviewed, and preparing
future releases, please share the relevant resources.

Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to contributing to the
project.

Best regards,
Awanish Gupta
IBM

Hi,

Thank you for the question.

At this stage, the driver is intended to support *IBM Db2 for LUW (Linux,
UNIX, and Windows)* only. Support for *Db2 for z/OS* is not included in the
current implementation.

Hey Awanish,

Would this cover Db2 for z/OS also, or just LUW (Linux Unix Windows)?

Hi Awanish,

Glad to see you here. The adbc-drivers org isn't part of the Apache Arrow project, so I will follow up with you directly about this, but it should be no problem to get you set up.

As for resources, please see the docs: https://arrow.apache.org/adbc/current/driver/authoring.html

Any questions are welcome here!

Best,
David
