Monitor Results Performance Graph

I am using JMeter 2.2 to load test an application based on Tomcat 5.5.

In the Monitor Results Performance Graph, the red Thread line is always
zero, though I know that I have some busy threads as reported in the
http://xxx/manager/status page.  Is this a bug or config issue?

(The yellow Memory line is tracking actual memory usage correctly, so I know
that JMeter is talking to Tomcat OK.)
