[jira] [Created] (DIRSERVER-1623) IPv6 support Everywhere it makes sense

IPv6 support Everywhere it makes sense
--------------------------------------

                 Key: DIRSERVER-1623
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1623
             Project: Directory ApacheDS
          Issue Type: Improvement
         Environment: all
            Reporter: Christ Schlacta

Referencing DIRSERVER-1622 , whatever's done there should be expanded to enable IPv6 support wherever it makes sense at all. I don't know if bootp ipv6 makes any sense, but just about everything else has some ipv6 interaction, and should be updated to reflect that.

With the depletion of IPv4 address space impending, it may be a Blocker in the near future.

[jira] [Commented] (DIRSERVER-1623) IPv6 support Everywhere it makes sense

Emmanuel Lecharny commented on DIRSERVER-1623:
----------------------------------------------

I vaguely remember that we have tested the server with an IPV6 address last year, from the top of my head. But I may be wrong.

In any case, it's absolutely mandatory that we check this point, and if it does not work, we have to fix it.

Thanks for having filled this JIRA.
