JVSD status

Just wanted to know where this is at.

Don't see any JIRA activity [1] since mid-Feb though all the subtasks are
resolved. Is JVSD working but currently parked on a feature branch [2]?

Thanks,
Nitin

Hi Dor,

Someday. But at present I feel it should remain on the feature branch
until it is a bit more functional. Ideally we would like to get to the 80%
feature level with the closed VSD utility before making it part of the
mainline. I will carve out time to review pull requests from the community
and there is a specification for jvsd on the Geode site for the desired
feature set that should be targeted.

Vince,

As far as I understood, the jVSD tool can be found in one of the branches, are you planning to put it in the 'main' branch ?

There is still significant work to make jvsd usable as a tool for review of the geode metrics.

The initial work was to make sure it could be built, and generally worked ( started, open stats files, basic graphs). But there is still significant work needed to get to point where it can be part of the main development branch or included in the release cycle. Please add bugs/features if you try it as it now is in a state where the community could move it forward as the overall code base is small for it and could be picked up fairly quickly with very few dependencies on the core Geode base.

Unfortunately I am too busy with other work and don't expect to return to jvsd for a while.

As I know; initial work was done to donate the code to apache...Its one of
the project community can pick-up and contribute without knowing much of
the Geode...
