[jira] [Created] (FLINK-23837) Differences between documentation and implementation for taskmanager.memory.network.max

Wawrzyniec Nowak created FLINK-23837:
----------------------------------------

             Summary: Differences between documentation and implementation for taskmanager.memory.network.max
                 Key: FLINK-23837
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-23837
             Project: Flink
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 1.12.0
            Reporter: Wawrzyniec Nowak

The default value for taskmanager.memory.network.max is [documented |https://ci.apache.org/projects/flink/flink-docs-release-1.13/docs/deployment/config/#taskmanager-memory-network-max] as 1gb but in the logs it says that

{code:java}
org.apache.flink.runtime.taskexecutor.TaskExecutorResourceUtils - The configuration option taskmanager.memory.network.max required for local execution is not set, setting it to its default value 64mb.
{code}

And it looks like 64mb is actually the default:
https://github.com/apache/flink/blob/9e8c551958f30d5b54cbb26d2a232d96e1e0988c/flink-runtime/src/main/java/org/apache/flink/runtime/taskexecutor/TaskExecutorResourceUtils.java#L244

Please either adjust documentation or change implementation to set 1gb by default
