Upgrading Apache Spark to use dropwizard/codahale metrics library version 4.x or higher is currently blocked by the fact that the Ganglia reporter has been dropped by Dropwizard metrics library in version 4.0. Dropwizard metrics library version 3.2 still includes a Ganglia reporter.
