Thanks a ton Julian and Jake.

I am much clearer about the roles thanks to the links and explanations
I was just curious about the section on contributors in the report hence
asked the question.

Re: [MENTORS] Report November 2015

Posted by Julian Hyde <jh...@apache.org>.
Contributor is an informal term. Someone who, say, mentions Concerted to a friend in a bar is in some sense contributing.

Committers and PPMC members are formal roles, appointed by a vote.

There are sections for reporting committers and PPMC members; contributors would be covered by general statements in the "How has the community developed” section. The IPMC and board want to get an accurate picture of what is going on, so some text in that section in addition to numbers would help.

Great.
Thanks Jake.

I wanted to check on something please. How do we categorise contributors?
If I understand correctly, Gaurav and Anand joined the community after it
entered incubation and have written patches. Does that constitute to be a
contributor please?

Thanks,

Atri

Hey Atri
Typically the draft report is created by someone on the PPMC and posted to
the dev@ list for discussion (as I did with this report) and then after
discussion has occurred (or not if there are no additions or changes
required) the report is posted to the wiki and a note asking for mentor
sign off is sent out and mentors go and sign off on the report on the wiki

Concerted

Apache Concerted is a Do-It-Yourself toolkit for building in-memory data
engines.

Concerted has been incubating since 2015-10-14.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

  1. First release
  2. Establish a consistent development process and release rhythm.
  3. Expanding the community and continuing to add new committers.

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be
aware of?

  - None at this time.

How has the community developed since the last report?

How has the project developed since the last report?
