RE: Log4cpp question

Hi again,

Ah, I see Stack already answered my question. (I was still trying to get subscribed to the dlist, so I didn't see the message.)

Thanks,

Dave

Subject: Log4cpp question

Hi Mentors,

A question: Trafodion at this point makes use of Log4cpp, which has a license that is not Apache-friendly. In our incubation proposal, we stated that we plan to replace it with something else that is Apache-friendly.

Now a question of timing: We'd like to get the code into Apache repositories as soon as possible.

Must we remove our use of Log4cpp before uploading to Apache? Or is it simply something we must do before exiting Incubation? Or is there some other timeline requirement?

Thanks,

Dave

Correct. SGA is a strong requirement before code migration happens.
CCLA -- is not strictly
speaking even a requirement. At least not from ASF side. All of your
developers will have
to file ICLAs anyway.

Thanks,
Roman.

Leaving this question to Kevin who is more familiar with the paperwork for the software grant (SGA).

It looks like the SGA (or CCLA) must be completed before we push the code into the Apache git.

So this is a dependency to scheduling the code cut over. Correct?

Also above, I ruminate we need to do a software grant to apache. See here:
http://incubator.apache.org/guides/mentor.html#initial-ip-clearance How you
folks going to assert you own the software? What you all thinking?
