You can try to use win 7 OS type, I used it on cs 4.0.2  working ..

Trying to install Windows 8.1 x64 Trial...boots from DVD fine, copies files, reboots, and after entering hostname and choosing "Express Setings"
for some stuff, I got screen/mouse stuck during the "Checking Internet Connection..."

Tried destroying and creating new VM multiply times (choose Windows 8 as the guest OS type...)

Server 2012 R2 installs just fine, and all other lower Windows versions...

But 8.1 keeps freezing... anybody had this issue ?

Just tried... It get's stuck at the very same screen.

This is Windows 8.1 x64...

Anyone ?
