[jira] [Updated] (CASSANDRA-7738) Permit CL overuse to be explicitly bounded

C. Scott Andreas updated CASSANDRA-7738:
----------------------------------------
    Component/s: Core

> Permit CL overuse to be explicitly bounded
> ------------------------------------------
>
> Key: CASSANDRA-7738
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-7738
> Project: Cassandra
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Core
> Reporter: Benedict
> Priority: Minor
> Fix For: 4.x
>
>
> As mentioned in CASSANDRA-7554, we do not currently offer any way to explicitly bound CL growth, which can be problematic in some scenarios (e.g. EC2 where the system drive is quite small). We should offer a configurable amount of headroom, beyond which we stop accepting writes until the backlog clears.
