[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-13989) Move all hadoop related code to a contrib module

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-13989?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16985967#comment-16985967 ]

Robert Muir commented on SOLR-13989:
------------------------------------

Managed to find a workaround to get things moving along on SOLR-13986, but this issue is still (or even more?) important: I left some notes there documenting the ugly hacks/holes that had to be implemented, so that HDFS support can work. It would be better if only HDFS users (rather than all users) had these risks.

> It seems really important to move or remove this hadoop shit out of the solr core: It is really unreasonable that solr core depends on hadoop. that's gonna simply block any progress improving its security, because solr code will get dragged down by hadoop's code.
> {quote}
> We should move all hadoop related dependencies to a separate contrib module
