Ruby client

Can someone be so kind to point me in the right direction of a good ruby 
client for HBase. The only one I could find was: 
https://github.com/sishen/hbase-ruby which seems to be severely outdated.

Our shell is jruby so you can see lots of examples of accessing hbase
from 'ruby' if you look in src/main/ruby.
