Maybe it is time to use Image Analysis Software to compare the different revisions of e.g. http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/forrest/site/skin/images/rc-b-l-15-1body-2menu-3menu.png?view=log&pathrev=429068 and find out what exactly changed.
