[jira] [Commented] (FALCON-282) Support feed to be based on location and table in different clusters

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FALCON-282?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13884391#comment-13884391 ]

Venkatesh Seetharam commented on FALCON-282:
--------------------------------------------

I had this initially but there are lot more complications with heterogenous storage with in a feed. I then added a validation to check if they are homogenous. Replications could get complicated with too many checks.

You could do this with 2 feed definitions, first existing feed for FS storage with validity ending in a day, second feed with table storage with validity starting in a day. However, you'll have to change the process definitions.

> We need to support any feed configured such that it is based on location in one cluster and table in another cluster. Feed actions (retention, replication) need to be figured out for this purpose.
> This configuration would be required to allow migration of existing feeds from location to table and vice-versa.
