Advice request - Open Office won't open

Advice please.
 
My Open Office 4.0.0 has clammed up (won't open)
 
System is Windows XP.
 
My Documents are listed as normal but won't come on screen (except  
pictures).

Start TaskManager (Ctrl Shift Esc) and kill any soffice processes shown on TaskManager's Processes tab. These can be left when OpenOffice crashes or is left running when the computer is shut down.
