Manipulating Xbean service unit configuration files

We have a requirement of providing a tool manipulate the EIP routing
xbean.xml file. The tool should be able to define and alter routing of
components. It will probably manipulate the xbean.xml configuration for a
bean service unit as well to define additional bean endpoints.

What will be the best strategy to manipulate the xbean.xml configuration
files?
