Shardul Mahadik commented on SPARK-35253:
-----------------------------------------
Hi folks, what is the path forward for this ticket?
We are hitting a Janino bug in our Spark deployment which was fixed [recently|https://github.com/janino-compiler/janino/issues/165]. Would be great to see Spark upgraded to the latest Janino version. As I understand, [https://github.com/janino-compiler/janino/pull/148] is preventing us from the upgrade. Should we reopen that PR and try to see if the maintainers of Janino are more receptive now?
> Upgrade Janino from 3.0.16 to 3.1.4

> From the [change log|http://janino-compiler.github.io/janino/changelog.html], the janino 3.0.x line has been deprecated, we can use 3.1.x line instead of it.
