With 4.0.M5 release {{java.time.*}} types are used by default in modeler and tools, while tutorial refers to {{java.util.Date}} type.
Here is some places to fix:
# cayenne inclusion requires cayenne-java8 module
# custom {{setDate}} method
# servlet example
