Secondary storage in error

Hi,

I try to use Cloudstack for testing Cloud Env, the configuration follow
the parameters below:

  * 1 management server emulated by KVM proxmox
  * 3 physical KVM servers with 7 osd per  node for RDB pool operated by
    CEPH
  * 1 Synologie with NFS share

 1. Primary Storage is RBD pool, hyper-converged
 2. Secondary Storage is NFS on the Synologie NAS

In first, the secondary storage fails:

déc. 10 17:53:20 kvm-n1 libvirtd[3419]: 2020-12-10 16:53:20.493+0000:
3422: error : virCommandWait:2709 : internal error: Child process
(/usr/bin/mount W.X.Y.Z:/volume1/PROXMOX-SAV/template/tmpl/1/3
/mnt/435a9463-7713-3305-811a-c70383a5ab69 -o nodev,nosuid,noexec)
unexpected exit status 32:mount.nfs: Protocol not supported

The VM system fails to start.

Why?

Second, how i can use ISCSI storage with Cloudstack?

Then, did you have some news on the release date of cloudstack 4.15?

Best Regards.

Hi Stéphane,

Can you check your NFS configuration? You can also try to mount the NFS storage/export on the SSVM host or on a different server to see if it works.

Yes, iSCSI is supported on KVM as primary storage, using share mount point; see http://docs.cloudstack.apache.org/en/latest/adminguide/storage.html#hypervisor-support-for-primary-storage

4.15.0.0 RC1 voting has started, you're welcome to participate in testing and voting. Thanks.

For reference, this is on my test SSVM:
# mount -l | grep nfs
192.168.1.10:/export/secondary on /mnt/SecStorage/c7d5b623-3906-36e4-827f-eadc9963ae1d type nfs4 (rw,relatime,vers=4.2,rsize=524288,wsize=524288,namlen=255,acdirmin=0,acdirmax=0,soft,proto=tcp,timeo=133,retrans=2147483647,sec=sys,clientaddr=192.168.1.67,local_lock=none,addr=192.168.1.10)

The specific NFS share above uses the linux nfs-kernel-server with the following exports setting:

echo "/export *(rw,async,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check)" > /etc/exports

Regards.
