Do you really want to use the same keyboard/mouse as someone that had just
used the 'loo'.

Extension for tiles / TilesDefinitionsFactory

Posted by Reinhard <un...@public-files.de>.
Hello everybody,

I'm done with the first version, I talked about.
I wrote a extension, with that you can use the "standard" Tiles-factory and
"plug in" a self-written ConfigFactory, which will allow you to dynamically
create tile-definitions (without changing the existing ones!).

For that I had to patch 2 existing struts-classes, extend an interface and 2
classes as well. To be flexible for any need, I added 3 new properties for
the tiles-plugin-definition.

The benefit of this will be a straight top-down approach in creating layouts.
You create your base-layout(s), where you define the major page composition.
Each tile defines a space for the components, which know nothing about the
surrounding layout.

You define an action for your usecases, which forwards to a tile.
Also you have to define one tile-definition for your usecase (no more one
entry for each layout).

Your self-written ConfigFactory is inserted in the request-chain for tiles
(getDefintion - method). In that call to getDefinition, you could ask the
superclass for a tile-definiton, make a copy and extend the copy according to
your needs. If your done, return the definition - that's it.

If you're interested in the code, feel free to contact me.

cheers Reinhard

Perhaps they are located in those "Superloos" which sterilize themselves
after each customer. Presumably the PC is waterproof!

I understand M$ will subcontract with prophylactic vendors to install latex
glove dispensers in the loos so that patrons can practice safe hex.
