[jira] [Commented] (CB-2905) GeoLocation Exif Data

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-2905?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13710729#comment-13710729 ]

Justin Wark commented on CB-2905:
---------------------------------

I agree that it is great to have the GPS info on the photos in some cases, however for the app I am developing I do not need or use the GPS location data. This means that now the user gets a popup message saying '"MyApp" Would Like to Use Your Current Location' with 'Don't Allow'/'OK' buttons, the photo capture takes longer (which the GPS data is retrieved) and battery is used unnecessarily.

Is it possibly to add a camera.getPicture() option to enable or disable this feature?

> Geolocation metadata is not included in the metadata dictionaries provided by UIImagePickerController, if we want that data included, we'll need to manually add it ourselves.
> Add geotags to the metadata dict before passing it to the JpegHeaderWriter for writing and splicing.
