Depending on which rough edges, remember that autoconf is
regenerated, ergo the legacy one.  Not sure which rough
edges you are most concerned about.

--with-apr-util=builtin of 1.3 for httpd 2.2 - and yet installing
to the /usr or /usr/local path, overwriting an already-installed 1.4.

Nonstandard; httpd 2.2 and 2.4 in two different trees.
