Compiling Xalan under HPUX11 with aCC and cc

I'm trying to use aCC and cc under HPUX-11 to compile Xalan libraries.
Obviously I couldn't do it. My system administrator said that there would be
some problems installing gnu c compiler.
Did someone try to do the same?? Has someone some hints to give me??
